Nestled in the picturesque landscapes of Nottinghamshire, Hodsock Priory stands as an enchanting wedding venue, offering couples the perfect backdrop for their special day. As an established Nottinghamshire wedding photographer, I've had the privilege of capturing timeless moments over many years within this romantic setting and this is why Hodsock Priory is one of my top wedding venue recommendations for couples looking to tie the knot in Nottinghamshire.

Hodsock Priory is an award-winning wedding venue located within an elegant estate which boasts a rich history dating back to the Doomsday Book. The combination of its stunning architecture, lavish interiors and outstanding gardens, set in an impressive 800 acres, make this a versatile venue that caters to a range of wedding styles and endless photographic opportunities.

Hodsock Priory offers a variety of indoor and outdoor spaces to host both intimate ceremonies and grand receptions. There are plenty of opportunities to create your own unique wedding style at Hodsock Priory, In the past I’ve shot a teepee wedding in the woods, a traditional marque wedding on the front lawn and many weddings using the ceremony rooms and the pavilion within the main house. The panelled hall is a favourite for the ceremony and for couple shots later in the day. The Georgian gazebo is a more recent space, perfect for capturing sun-kissed images of your wedding vows in the summer months.

From a photographer's perspective, Hodsock Priory presents an array of opportunities for creative and stunning shots. I am a keen gardener and I really appreciate the work that has gone into making the grounds as impressive as they are throughout the year. The snowdrops are particularly impressive around February, followed by the daffodils, tulips and a variety of blossom trees in early spring. The grounds come into full swing through the summer months when the perennial beds are in full bloom. These are all great opportunities for spectacular backdrops to your wedding photography.

Architecturally the the gatehouse is probably the most iconic structure which was interestingly built in preparation for a visit from Henry VIII. The library is a classic country house space as it still retains its original art and book collections, I once did an Annie Leibovitz inspired group shot in this room of the groomsmen which worked a treat.
